Mission Statement
We, the College of Science Staff Advisory Council, support CoS staff by:
- providing a conduit for information
- acting in an advocacy role
- promoting mentoring opportunities
- recognizing achievements
We serve as a liaison and advisor to the Dean on staff issues. Our goal is to empower employees within the College of Science, enhance their quality of life, and build a sense of community.
CoSSAC's Commitments
Staff Recognition
- Promote and administer CoS Star Award staff recognition program
- Plan and coordinate annual CoS Staff Excellence Awards luncheon
- Plan and coordinate community service programs, involvement and outreach as it pertains to science
Mentoring and Advocacy
- Strengthen and promote a supportive positive work environment
- Interact with both University of Arizona resources and the College of Science staff, on behalf of the College of Science Staff. It is our responsibility to listen and our duty to speak
- Coordinate dean time
- Coordinate Professional Development Grants
- Coordinate staff field trips
Communications
- Develop and maintain CoSSAC website
- Disseminate relevant information to CoS staff through various media
- Market and promote the council
